Zann Commercial Real Estate, redesigned and extended into print and outdoor.
The Zann logo was redesigned in 2021, replacing a three color lowercase wordmark with a single color geometric one. The identity was then extended into stationery, document templates and outdoor marketing, with the diagonal of the Z carried through as a recurring graphic device.
-
Logo redesign. The previous logo set against the new wordmark.
The previous lowercase wordmark used three colors over a stacked descriptor. It was replaced with an uppercase wordmark drawn from straight, angled strokes in a single brand blue.
-
Clear space. The space kept clear around the wordmark and the Z mark.
Clear space was defined from the logo's own geometry, so the rule holds at any reproduction size and applies to the Z mark and reversed versions alike.
-
Minimum size. The smallest the wordmark and Z mark may be reproduced.
A floor was set for both marks in print and on screen, sized to keep the cut in the Z and A open.
-
Logo construction. The module grid the wordmark is drawn on.
The wordmark was rebuilt on a single module, so every bar, diagonal and cut is a fixed proportion of the cap height and the logo can be redrawn exactly at any size.
-
Z mark construction. The standalone Z and the surfaces it is used on.
The Z was drawn to work on its own, keeping the wordmark's module, diagonal and cut, and was set on four grounds for app icons and avatars.
-
Legibility testing. Both wordmarks read by text recognition at shrinking sizes.
Both wordmarks were rendered at nine sizes and read with optical character recognition. The new wordmark returned 32 of 36 letters, and the previous wordmark returned none.
-
Category color audit. The lead colors of the most recognized commercial real estate brands.
The lead brand color of 16 brokerage and advisory firms from Lipsey's 2025 brand survey was recorded. Blue leads 5 of them, tied with red, and was carried into the logo for its tie to perceived competence in controlled testing.
-
Stationery suite. The correspondence set used by brokers day to day.
Letterhead, envelope and business cards were designed as one family, and the envelope flap carries the mark in brand blue.
-
Wordmark. The Zann wordmark from the 2021 identity.
The wordmark is drawn from the same cut, angled strokes as the Z mark, and across the extended pieces it is locked up with a divider rule and a commercial real estate descriptor.
-
Original card. The 2021 business card front.
The blue band layout was set on the first business card in 2021 and carried forward as the front of the new broker cards.
-
Business cards. The cards designed for individual brokers.
Six card faces were designed in total. The front keeps the original blue band layout from 2021, and the backs pair contact details with solid versions of the mark in aqua, black and white.
-
Folders and notepad. A leave-behind kit for client meetings and pitches.
Presentation folders were produced in blue and black with an oversized tonal Z, and a branded notepad completes the set.
-
Offering memorandum. The sales document prepared for investors when a property goes to market.
A cover and two interior spreads cover the executive summary, investment highlights, location and financial overview, and the tenant mix chart reuses the brand's donut graphic.
-
Z mark. The standalone monogram and its color pairings.
The Z is used on its own on card backs, folder covers and document footers, and was set in six pairings across the brand blue, aqua, black and neutral grounds.
-
Donut graphic. The brand's chart graphic in its two color sets.
The segmented donut was drawn in an aqua set and a blue set, and the offering memorandum reuses it as the tenant mix chart.
-
Mobile lockup. The wordmark and full company name on screen.
The wordmark is set across the full width of the screen over the brand blue, with the full company name in spaced capitals beneath it.
-
Document templates. Templates for the brokerage's recurring documents.
Three templates were built: a quarterly market report, a property flyer for leasing listings and a leasing proposal cover.
-
Billboard. A highway bulletin for brand awareness and listing promotion.
Two creatives were designed for digital rotation, one for the brand and one for a specific listing.
-
Site sign. The for lease sign placed on available properties.
A rider panel was added for build to suit listings.
-
Banner stands. Two retractable banners for events and lobby displays.
One leads with the firm's services and the other with its track record.
